ABSTRACT

Today, the pedagogical use of ICTs has facilitated the shared creation of knowledge through learning communities and a set of benefits and potentialities with respect to traditional methods of content transmission. Similarly, the socio-educational and technological changes of the 21st century have contributed to promoting profound transformations in higher education institutions aimed at strengthening new trends that seek to favor the mobility of students, graduates, and teaching staff, among other aspects, to give way to a competitive society based on knowledge and new technological trends. The use of Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) is useful in building emerging ICT skills, teamwork capabilities, and the discovery of new useful immersive learning resources. VR- and AR-based learning activities can be particularly useful in pre-university and higher education studies related to the humanities and social sciences areas, as it allows access to content.
