ABSTRACT
Driven by consumer demand, mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets are offering more desktop-like capabilities. High-performance processors, which handle compute-intensive tasks, are key to enhancing the user experience in applications such as 3D gaming, high-definition video and internet browsing. Computing needs increase and also the communication data rate. The power and performance are like two, can be interchange pretty much. Thermal design is really important for mobile SOC and because of the thermal limit that we have to make sure that our CPUs, that our SOCs is not exceeding this thermal limit. Remote sensing is a way to reduce the voltage drop. Thermal management is important, because the temperature is changing all the time and we don’t want to keep exceeding a certain thermal budget.
