ABSTRACT

This chapter reveals the main problems in a sphere of economic growth and disparities globally. The major step in fostering sustainability begins from the first UN Conference on the Human Environment, Stockholm, followed by the second Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro, 1992, where 172,108 people participated including head of the states, business personnel and other experts. Most of the states in the world started focus and monitor on patterns of production, investigation on alternatives for the fossil fuels, alternatives for the public transportation and water resource management. The problems of wealth, income and gender inequality are interrelated, and linked to access to higher education. High-quality formal and informal education, training, coaching, advocacy projects and advising, in our opinion, may become powerful drivers of transformations. Climate change is closely linked to urbanization and population growth, as well as economic growth which has urbanization as a core element.
