ABSTRACT

Human Resources Management (HRM) can play an important role in the sustainability of organizations and it has over the years assumed this role, although not always well understood at various hierarchical and functional levels. The quality of the management function can be an important factor for the sustainability of organizations, by contributing to their effective development or even ensuring their survival in more hostile environments. Strategic decisions, operational and administrative tactics that the top management of an organization or formal HRM managers assume can significantly contribute to defining and/or delimiting decision-making at the level of delegating responsibilities to line managers. People are perceived as proactive, gifted with intelligence, with differentiated knowledge, skills and abilities that must be identified, developed and empowered in terms of organizational performance and individual motivation.
