ABSTRACT

This chapter aims to give a snapshot of the recent virtual reality (VR) studies with an emphasis on novel system components or application areas. The researchers investigated the usefulness of the Haptic Links in providing bimanual interaction techniques in VR. 3D user interface was incorporated to improve user experience in web browsing. Suitable segregated interaction techniques were used to perform web-related and 3D tasks from the literature. Kinesthetic language learning refers to learning language through bodily activities connecting the mind and the body. Physics is among the most challenging and important courses for students. Grivokostopoulou et al. explored creating a physics education in VR for students and teachers of K-12 level. The chapter suggests that VR was a potentially effective medium for the understanding, treatment, and assessment of cognitive disorders although being at a relatively early stage. VR has been used in the treatment of eating disorders, mostly with a focus on cue-exposure therapy and treatment for body image disturbance.
