ABSTRACT
This chapter presents the concepts behind wireless power transfer by induction and describes the phenomenon both by Circuit Theory (CT) and by Coupled-mode Theory (CMT). The two theories are compared, outlining their advantages and disadvantages. Methods to compute the resonator parameters based on the Neumann formula and using the professional ANSOFT Q3D EXTRACTOR 6 are also developed and compared. This chapter concludes with optimization of wireless power transfer.
