ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses splitting frequency in magnetic coupled resonant systems. The splitting frequency response in several antenna schemes is presented. Magnetic resonant coupling system based on strong coupling technique has recently opened a new research in the wireless power transfer application. In the wireless power transfer application, coupling is dependent on distance between the transmitter and receiver coil. Degree of the coupling defines the rate of the energy transfer from the transmitter to receiver. Determining the split frequencies requires analysis of the system power transfer matrix using eigenvalue solutions. Hence, the presence of cross-coupling leads to asymmetrical splitting of the frequency. Hence, the presence of cross-coupling leads to asymmetrical splitting of the frequency.
