ABSTRACT

In this study, we analyzed the ventilation characteristics of Xiangbei Great House through field research and mapping, and extracted the spatial prototype of Xiangbei Great House to study the influence of the spatial form of the shaft and lane on the wind environment. Based on the basic data obtained from the research, the original wind environment was simulated using ECOTECT software, and then the prototype wind environment of different shaft spaces was simulated using Phoenics software. It was found that the wind environment of the shaft space in Xiangbei Great House is characterized as follows: (1) the presence of alleyway air does not necessarily give good ventilation to the patio, and the ventilation effect of the patio is more related to the morphological layout of the patio; (2) the adoption of a staggered layout of the shaft space can obtain a good wind environment; (3) the combination of horizontal patio and cold alley is more conducive to ventilation than the combination of vertical patio and cold alley.
