ABSTRACT

PERW is an effective improvement to the lack of ecological characteristics of traditional concrete retaining walls. Compared with traditional concrete retaining walls, the cost of PERW is slightly increased. In order to make better use of PERW, it is necessary to evaluate the ecological benefits it produces. Its ecological benefits are mainly reflected in various ecological functions such as water conservation, carbon fixation and oxygen released, soil conservation, atmosphere environmental purification, climate regulation, etc. The use of alternative engineering method, carbon tax method, restoration cost method, and various ecological functions account for their respective proportions. It is 68.01%, 22.55%, 6.43%, 2.8%, 0.21%, and the total value is 950140 yuan/ (hm2. a). The economic net present value of the Taiping River's PERW during the period of use is 829300 yuan, and the internal rate of return is 42.00%. The application of the project shows that a slight increase in the cost of PERW can bring potential ecological value, which is economically feasible and worthy of application.
