ABSTRACT

Based on the demand of intelligent traffic, this paper uses video cameras and German continental millimeter wave radar (ARS408-21XX) to complete the lateral speed monitoring of various vehicles on the road, analyzes their respective speed measuring principles and data processing algorithms, and calculates the speed measuring error of the two in different models. The control of car vehicles is within 17%. In the test section, the error of video speed measurement is slightly larger when the speed of SUV is larger, and the error of white truck is less than 7%. Finally, a joint method of matching with the real speed of vehicles is proposed, and a suitable strategy of matching the specific gravity value with the real speed is established by combining their respective advantages and characteristics.
