ABSTRACT

Previous studies on energy dissipation and damping technology have rapidly developed. However, fewer studies focus on the setting of energy dissipation dampers and the quantitative analysis of energy dissipation. In this study, first, the damping capacity of a steel structure with additional metal dampers is examined by combining the damping performance curve of a single-mass system. Second, the time history analysis of the structure is carried out. The results show that the maximum displacement and velocity response values of the energy dissipation structure with metal dampers are reduced by nearly 50% compared with the main structure, which is close to the target displacement reduction rate.
