ABSTRACT

A promising area of study called nanotechnology has a lot of potential over the next 10 years and is expected to significantly accelerate the development of new technologies across many different industrial sectors. The budding applications and wide benefits of nanotechnology are immense. These include nanoporous zeolites for efficient water and fertilizer dosing, nanocapsules for pest management and the delivery of herbicides, and nanosensors for pest detection. The present chapter aims on the utilization of nanoparticles (NPs) in crop protection, with a prominence on pest management in the agri-sector and urban environments. The framework for NP technology and the numerous types of NPs now used for pest management are both provided in this chapter. Several forms of NPs are derived from natural resources, making them viable “green” alternatives to standard pest control treatments.
