ABSTRACT
This chapter defines the concept of community engagement and further presents examples from the literature where community engagement has provided a platform for communities to recover from disasters. The chapter introduces the three drivers of community care, as well as five steps in community assessment. It concludes with the task of writing a plan to move forward.
