ABSTRACT

The frankincense is obtained from the oleo gum resin of Boswellia tree species, and the gum is used for many applications, which makes it as an economically potential source for the livelihood of tribal people and a rich arena for foreign exchange. The frankincense market has turnover through raw and essential oils of Boswellia raised up to US$ 193.4 Mn in 2018, and is estimated to up to US$ 406.1 Mn by 2028. In this chapter, a detailed account of the production, trade, and commerce of frankincense/ olibanum is given.
