ABSTRACT

Balancing the conflicting interests and promoting the harmonizing interests are the main challenges of effective policymaking, especially in Asian contexts. Nevertheless, there are several positive developments in the scientific and professional domains of land management and geospatial sciences in Asia. Finding suitable locations for the growing housing demand is another issue that is faced by the local authorities in Asia. Legal pluralism and a growing array of organizations that are responsible for land matters, with the help of foreign donor agencies, is another topic in Asia. Proper identification of different basic administrative units and associated RRR as well as their spatial representation, based on LADM modelling approach is, therefore, imperative to Asia. Proper communication between architects, engineers, and planners is another important domain that is being discussed around the World and in Asia in particular. Crypto-based registration and guarantees are on the agenda of various national land agencies in Asia, such as Indonesia.
