ABSTRACT

In order to study the influence of super absorbent polymer (SAP) on the basic mechanical properties of manufactured sand concrete, the experimental studies of SAP content (0%, 0.08%, 0.16%, 0.24%) on the cubic compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, flexural strength and axial compressive strength of manufactured sand concrete were carried out. The results reveal that the cube compressive strength and splitting tensile strength of manufactured sand concrete increased firstly, and then decreased with the increase of SAP content. The flexural strength and axial compressive strength of manufactured sand concrete decreased first, then increased and then decreased as SAP content increased. It could be concluded from the above experiments that SAP content of 0.08% played a positive role in the improvement of mechanical properties of manufactured sand concrete. The above research could provide support for the internal curing technology of manufactured sand concrete.
