ABSTRACT

Most of the small reservoirs in Zhejiang Province were built before the 1970s. They have reached or exceeded their service life and entered a period of high risk of disease. The risk of dam failure always exists. Combined with the proposal of the water conservancy department, forecasting, rehearsal, early warning, and pre-planning should be taken as the key to the safety of reservoirs during flood season. This paper uses numerical methods and two-dimensional hydrodynamic models to carry out simulation research on the dam failure process of Dayang reservoirs, simulate the development process of dam failure of small reservoirs, and draw a map of the impact range of dam failure. This paper provides technical support for formulating highly targeted safety emergency plans for small reservoir dam failures.
