ABSTRACT

Chronic sinusitis (CRS) is an upper respiratory disease during which topical drug treatment via the nasal cavity is the most widely used therapeutic strategy. Endoscopic sinus surgery (ESS) is used during CRS; it improves ventilation, drainage, and gives better access to local anti-inflammatory treatment. After surgery, stents can be used for faster recovery. The chapter presents bioabsorbable steroid-eluting sinus stents: Propel and SINUVA, the materials they are made of, and their appearance.
