ABSTRACT

Work-life balance is the concept used for explaining the two sides of working women's lifestyle. The present study was undertaken in this environment to establish the balance of work and life of women working in the information technology industry with various personal challenges of family involvement, family culture, and the professional challenges of long and irregular working hours, job roles, and responsibilities.

A descriptive study was accomplished with the sample of 100 women respondents from three selected IT companies located in Chennai. Questionnaires comprise of demographic information in section A, and in section B it comprises forced-choice questions on personal and professional challenges and work-life balance. The statistical tools used for this study are multiple correlation and multiple regression with the help of software SPSS (20.0).

This chapter concludes that the personal and professional challenges significantly influence work-life balance.
