Nutrition plays a pivotal role in both the prevention and treatment of cancer. Embracing a well-balanced and nourishing diet can substantially lower the likelihood of specific cancer types and promote overall well-being. Conversely, inadequate nutrition can compromise the body’s defense against cancer and raise the probability of complications. Indeed, nutrition exerts a multifaceted impact on cancer risk and treatment results. Research indicates that adopting a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins may contribute to diminishing the likelihood of specific cancer types, including colorectal, breast, and prostate cancer. These foods contain beneficial nutrients and compounds, including antioxidants, fiber, and phytochemicals, which have demonstrated anti-cancer properties. Nevertheless, diets rich in processed and red meats, saturated and trans fats, and refined sugars have been associated with heightened cancer risk. These foods can induce inflammation and oxidative stress in the body, potentially damaging cells and elevating the likelihood of cancer development. In the course of cancer treatment, nutrition plays a crucial role in preserving strength and energy, handling side effects, and bolstering the immune system. Therapies like chemotherapy and radiation can lead to issues like nausea, vomiting, and digestive problems.
