ABSTRACT

A student produces several certificates over their entire academic career, whether they are in high school, college, or even a postgraduate program. These certificates could include results, diplomas, or transcripts. Students must provide these certificates to universities or employers to be admitted. It becomes tiresome to track these certificates and manually verify their legitimacy. The lack of a suitable anti forge system results in a situation where it is discovered that the diploma is forged. Everything needs to be digitalized with the principles of Confidentiality, Reliability, and Availability to make the data more secure and safe. Our proposed system will use the Blockchain technology along with the Inter Planetary File System (IPFS) to solve this problem. The flow of our system will, in a nutshell, include a Certificate Issuer who will upload documents along with student details, onto the IPFS, which breaks the file into multiple parts and returns a CID as an IPFS link. The uploading of the document involves a transaction performed by the issuing authority that is being recorded on the blockchain. Each document will have a distinct IPFS link that may be utilized by any official through the portal to verify the document's authenticity. Our system will have the advantage of reducing the possibility of a student losing or destroying or forging a document and making document verification simple.
