ABSTRACT

In the current world, Image processing in the clinical field plays a crucial part in making the occupation of medicos unchallenging. The traditional methods of examining the reports physically are time-consuming and chances of missing out on smaller details are more. This can be replaced with modern technologies to avoid such problems. The uses are almost limitless, and with the popularity of Image Processing that is growing at a faster pace than many other fields, the usage of these Image processing algorithms is no where to cease in near future. One such field we are here trying to bring Machine Learning algorithms is the Detection of Metastases in Lymph Node Tissues. When a person is battling cancer, the tumor might break out from that particular region and rollout to other parts of the body including Lymph Nodes, as lymph fluid flows all over the body collecting wastes. This process of tumor growth in a secondary region in the body is called Metastasis. This project performs extracting of features from a tissue sample image and helps classify whether the given tissue sample has cancerous cells or not. This is a relevant problem in today's world as the number of cancer patients is increasing and faster solutions have to be formulated to comb at the disease as quickly as possible.
