ABSTRACT

Nowadays, we note the faster and faster development of industry, and thus the increasing production of industrial wastewater that is dangerous for the environment. These include mainly organic compounds that can be toxic, and carcinogenic and pose a threat to the life and health of humans and animals. Organic compounds are difficult to purify by popular methods such as coagulation, flotation, or aeration. Therefore, new wastewater treatment methods, such as the advanced oxidation process, are used for their degradation. Among them, the most efficient is the Fenton process and its modifications, such as heterogeneous or homogeneous process or photo-Fenton, sono-Fenton, and electro-Fenton process.
