ABSTRACT

The use of crop growth model can indicate the best suited option for soil moisture conservation or soil health restoration. The suitable crop rotation for a region as per the soil and water resources can be obtained by sequential analysis of crop growth model. There is a need for well-established decision support system for improvement of conservation agriculture and such system must be region-specific. The term system is used to describe a simplified representation of reality that contains interrelated elements. Decision Support System for Agrotechnology Transfer model can simulate the effect of different tillage practices, fertilizer combinations, and cropping sequence analysis. Agricultural Production Systems SIMulator model can simulate the growth and yield of various crops in response to a variety of management practices, crop mixtures and rotation sequences, including pastures and livestock. The Agricultural Policy Environmental eXtender model has been applied to evaluate the effects of different components of conservation practices by different scientists.
