ABSTRACT

Precise and continuous measurement the greenhouse gases (GHGs) fluxes/emissions in agricultural systems are required for accounting and budgeting of carbon. The concentrations of GHGs, namely carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide collected by chamber can be measured by gas chromatography. The detectors required for estimation of carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide are flame ionization detector fitted with a methanizer, flame ionization detector, and electron capture detector (ECD). The gas sampling by the chamber method could be done through automatically instead of manually. The mitigation options of GHGs emissions in agriculture can be classified into two different pathways like, supply-side and demand-side mitigation technologies.
