ABSTRACT

The Internet of things is widely used nowadays for the day-to-day activities of human beings. With the help of IoT, we can not only collect or transmit data but also process or exchange information with other devices. Applications of IoT are growing across education, industries, healthcare, hospitality, and agriculture. Several technologies, like devices that continuously analyze health metrics, deliver medications automatically or provide timely record patient medical data, could reduce overall costs for avoiding or managing chronic diseases with the help of IoT devices. In this chapter, we are focusing on the applications of IoT in the healthcare domain. This chapter focuses on implementing IoT technology for the rapidly developing field of personalized health, while also examining the foundations of IoT in the healthcare system. It discusses well-known examples of health and the most recent and complex IoT-derived techniques. The technical, ethical and economical barriers to building a better medical system that can identify and diagnose illnesses early are also the main emphasis of this study. The appropriate information about the right patients at the right time might be provided by healthcare practitioners through the usage of cutting-edge health systems based on IoT.
