ABSTRACT

Security and privacy concerns are always significant issues when discussing futuristic or emerging technologies. This is mainly due to the increasing cybercrime, phishing and fraud. To considerably reduce the probability of cyber security breaches and privacy issues, there is a need for advanced technologies like blockchain and the Internet of Everything, which act together as a safeguard in the online world. So first, the basic understanding of blockchain: a collection of information (database) that is used for digital information records and their distribution, which makes it impossible to alter without being traced. The data is collected in blocks; every block has a fixed capacity, and when it gets full, it gets attached to other blocks and forms the data chain. Each block contains the cryptographic hash, which is the fixed length scrambled code, and the output is used for transaction purposes. If any change is made in the data, the blockchain can detect that there is some suspicious activity going on and protects the data by encryption, changing the settings to create a secure environment. This technology needs to be more user-friendly for all, safe, and accessible. This would lead to a brighter future, for instance, for payment systems which can be integrated with another technology such as the Internet of Everything (IoE). The IoE technology will play a major role to secure future generations and prevent the misuse of any technology for personal needs. It will also work as a health care monitor and provide online security assistance as well as proper futureproofing and maintenance. Futuristic multitasking features will be readily available to all with the help of this technology. IoE will be connecting today's technology with futuristic technology for a seamless experience, and an improved experience for the user. This chapter aims to describe the modern era of emerging technologies with online privacy, safety, and security, in the most advanced, fast, and improved version, which can be easily implemented with the help of a combination of blockchain and IoE. Last, future trends of blockchain and Internet of Things integration are discussed in this chapter.
