ABSTRACT

In day-to-day life, every hospital plays a major role in securing the patient’s life. In all hospitals, nurses and the attenders are responsible for monitoring the intravenous fluid level and the health of the patients. Most of the times, the observer may not watch the level of the saline bottle frequently. This may cause backflow of blood from patients veins to IV tubes. If the bottle gets empty, air enters the tube and in turn into the veins, which may affect the patient. So automatic intravenous fluid and health monitoring system is designed. In this system, IR sensors and blood pressure sensor are used.IR sensors are used to predict the level of the intravenous fluid bottle. If the fluid bottle comes to an end, it is sensed by the Arduino UNO energized with the sensors setup. At first the message notification is sent to the nurse’s phone number. And then, after some time, the automatic emergency call is generated, and the call alert will be sent to the control room with indicating the room number. Then at the critical stage, the buzzer sound is alarmed continuously. Blood pressure sensor is used to check the 58systolic, diastolic pressure and the pulse rate of the patient. The proposed system can also be monitored remotely by using IoT platform.
