ABSTRACT
The “dark web”, a secret and untraceable portion of the internet, is frequently used to store and retrieve private data. However, there have been multiple instances when this platform has been utilized to hide illegal and criminal conduct. This chapter describes the dark web, its features, benefits, associated issues, and the many browsers used to access it. Different types of attacks and viruses are described, together with the various criminal activities taking place on the dark web, and appropriate protective steps.
