ABSTRACT

A broadband fractal microstrip patch antenna has been designed for 5G communication applications. With dual layers and a defective ground structure, this antenna achieves a wider bandwidth and higher gain (DGS). In order to achieve broadband operation and high gain, the fractal elliptical patch is proposed to be printed on the FR4 substrate layer and coupled to the same FR4 substrate with DGS. The proposed antenna has an operating frequency of 3.5GHz and bandwidth of 2.7GHz to 5.3GHz. CSTMW 2018 is used for the analysis and simulation Important parameters of the proposed antenna, such as S11, gain, and VSWR, have been simulated. The proposed structure has a compact design of 30 × 30mm2 The proposed gain of the antenna is 7.56dB which is well suited for 5G applications. From the results, it is clearly shown that the antenna has excellent performance for 5G applications.
