ABSTRACT

This chapter presents the process and methods involved in the integration of fault tolerance in feedback control. The chapter commences with the preliminary information regarding the key properties of feedback control that are relevant to the fault tolerance. Followed by that, the main architecture of the fault tolerant feedback control system is discussed along with the methods involved in designing major components of fault tolerant feedback control. Examples have been provided for clear understanding of the concepts. Finally, the step-by-step process of integrating fault tolerance in feedback control has been laid out and discussed. Brief discussion regarding the unknown faults and the concluding remarks have been provided at the end of the chapter.
