ABSTRACT

In this chapter, a smart mirror-based home automation system is designed where voice commands (Google Assistance) in association with sensors are utilized for controlled regulatory measures. In this system, one channel is dedicated for motion sensing switching of the equipment and another dedicated for the light intensity-based switching of the equipment connected to the channel. In addition to turn-on and turn-off the lights as per voice request, it can also search the web for voice query and read out the results about the weather when asked for. It also smartly helps to reduce the energy consumption by switching off the device when not 106needed. This system can be operated through Android and IOS-based mobiles, tablets, and even through computers or any purchased Google home devices and self-created microcontroller-based docks that are associated with the owner’s Google account and have the permission to trigger byte information to the authenticated server.
