ABSTRACT

The Tomada De Decisao Interativa Multicriterio (TODIM) is a discrete MCDM method based on the concept of prospect theory, which was awarded the Nobel Prize for Economics in 2002. It has been observed that most of the existing MCDM methods basically work on the framework that a solution always corresponds to the maximum of any global measure, e.g., the maximum value possible for a utility function in the field of multi-attribute utility theory. The multi-attribute value (additive difference) function involved in the TODIM method mainly deals with the projection of differences observed between a pair of alternatives with respect to a criterion. This method employs paired comparisons among the evaluation criteria and at the same time, eliminates infrequent discrepancies that arise from such comparisons. Rangel et al. demonstrated the application of the TODIM method for evaluation of different types of access available to the Broadband Internet facility for a small organization.
