ABSTRACT
The decision-making problems in the manufacturing environment are often characterized by several non-commensurable and conflicting criteria, and there may be no solution satisfying all the criteria simultaneously. The basic concept of the Viekriterijumsko Kompromisno Rangiranje (VIKOR) method lies in defining the positive-and the negative-ideal points in the solution space. It evaluates a multi-criterion ranking index based on the closeness to the PIS. The VIKOR method is an effective Multi-Criteria Decision-Making tool, particularly when the decision maker is not able, or does not know to express his/her preference at the beginning of the decision-making process. The criteria weights were estimated using Analytic hierarchy process method, while VIKOR method helped in compromised ranking of the candidate alternatives.
