ABSTRACT

The biggest problem facing the globe is producing enough food to feed an expanding population in an era of regular climate change. Therefore, the adoption of modern technologies, high-yielding cultivars, irrigation water, and fertilizers has contributed to the development of a global food surplus. It generally goes without saying that agriculture is vulnerable to climate hazards, with consequences for food security and farm livelihoods. The current climate has a significant impact on agriculture. Food and nutritional security is a top priority in developing nations. Policies and strategies pertaining to the development, uptake, and adaption of technology, knowledge, and innovations, as well as their accompanying institutional modifications, are significant determinants in overcoming the complex and dynamic problems posed by the world food system. This overview provides some basic information about the mapping of cropland and agricultural transformation, forest vegetation, disaster-resilient and sustainable development, and application of remote sensing and geographic information system based approaches in agricultural practice and climatic issues using a systematic literature review. It summarizes the book’s discretionary portion and explains the themes of agricultural transformation and climate challenges. It focuses on a global overview of agricultural transformation, climate change, and geospatial technologies utilized in agriculture and provides a more in-depth review of several aspects of agricultural conversion. This finding highlights the multidisciplinary nature of agricultural and climate challenges that require a successful cross-sectoral strategy to be handled.
