ABSTRACT

Mathematical programming is vital in assessing managerial systems so that decision-makers can optimize objectives. In the current scenario, generic linear programming would be insufficient since the manufacturing sectors would have to cope with competing multiple objectives and planning problems. Thus, the aim of the current chapter is to investigate multi-objective decision programming (MODP) with fuzzy parameters, as all parameters in today's production sectors are not crisp, but rather hazy and ambiguous. This MODP is designed to handle production planning problems with many such competing objectives. Furthermore, the MODP with fuzzy parameters provides the most attractive potential for application to these production planning challenges, allowing the benefits over traditional processes to be investigated. As a result, this work highlights the fuzzy nature of multi-objective decision programming in the manufacturing base.
