ABSTRACT

In various aspects of technology, images with a variety of formats are used. In many cases, the images which are used may not be clear in terms of clarity and visibility and having a high ratio of distortion. In order to achieve an effective outcome, these distorted images should be processed initially with efficient methods; in the next stage they can be used as an input for further processing. In this way, the quality of the images plays a major role in providing a better outcome. In this chapter, a novel and effective approach is designed for the enhancement of images. Here, a study has been carried out on various properties of image and the way in which the methods can be imposed on these properties in order to obtain an enhanced image. The detailed investigation provides an idea about the activities to be carried out, such as Image Compression, Image Categorization and Image Enhancement. In the preliminary phase of development, the images will be compressed and standardized. In the secondary phase, these compressed images are categorized. Finally, the categorized images are processed based on their properties to get the enhanced images as the final output.
