ABSTRACT

To ensure that jack-up platforms can survive after earthquakes, seismic analysis for strength level earthquake (SLE) and ductility level earthquake (DLE) should be conducted. SLE seismic analysis assures that the platform structures can still work after earthquakes. In DLE seismic analysis some members of the platform structures are destroyed, but the whole structure does not fall. This paper first introduces the different steps for SLE and DLE seismic analysis. The loads considered for SLE and DLE seismic analysis are studied. Lastly, the criteria for the structure under SLE and DLE are discussed. The structure natural period, code check, and collapse analysis is checked for the three-leg jack-up platform. This research provides a basic design scheme for the SLE and DLE seismic analysis of the jack-up platform.
