ABSTRACT

In this study, three kinds of thermal insulation layers (polystyrene particles insulation mortar, XPS, and foam cement) were proposed and applied to the conventional precast composite wall. To obtain the mechanical properties such as the failure process of the precast composite wall with different thermal insulation layers, three 1/2-scaled precast composite wall specimens with different thermal insulation layers were manufactured and then tested under a pseudo-static experiment; meanwhile, the same scaled specimen without thermal insulation layer was made for comparison. The results and analysis showed that the seismic performance of precast composite walls is influenced by the thermal insulation layer structure and thermal insulation material. Four specimens have similar experiment phenomena and show the bending-shear failure mode finally. The trend of the stiffness degradation curve of the four specimens is similar, and the three thermal insulation layers improve the initial stiffness and the energy consumption capacity of the precast composite wall obviously.
