ABSTRACT

A multi-hazard risk assessment method for Fujian Hakka earth buildings under the coupling action of strong rainfall (flood) scouring and earthquake is proposed. Based on various failure states of Fujian earth buildings’ structural performance, the failure risk assessment of Fujian earth buildings under the coupling effect of heavy rainfall (flood) scouring and earthquake is conducted. The research results show that the failure probability of Fujian earth-building structures under each failure state is greatly improved when considering the strong rainfall flood scouring and earthquake coupling effects compared with only considering the earthquake effects, and the impact of strong rainfall flood scouring on the seismic performance of structures cannot be ignored. The evaluation method is simple and reliable, which is of great significance for Fujian Hakka earth buildings in multi-disaster emergency response and disaster loss reduction.
