ABSTRACT

This paper studies whether the overall structural design of spar platforms can overcome the harmful effects caused by structural resonance. Using finite element software ANSYS to take the harmonic response analysis under the premise of excluding the transient vibration at the beginning of excitation, only the steady-state forced vibration of the structure is considered. The determined response value of the displacement with the intersection in the deck and main body to the frequency, predict the continuous dynamic characteristic of the platform structure. It was verified that the resonance phenomenon occurs when the vibration frequency of the structure is close to its natural frequency, namely the resonance effect. The results show that the platform can overcome structural resonance effectively, and the analysis of the harmonic response of offshore platform structure is valuable to engineering practice.
