ABSTRACT

Due to the long construction period of construction projects, it is difficult to accurately estimate the number of materials to meet the needs of the entire project. Too much material will cause waste, and too little will delay the progress of the project. It is very difficult to calculate the number of bulk materials in the bill of quantities, and the number of bulk materials varies with factors such as project scale, design habits, and construction methods, which bring difficulties to the project cost work. Therefore, this paper starts with the estimation of the number of bulk materials in the construction cost, taking a residential construction project in Yunnan as an example to establish an estimation model for the number of bulk materials based on the BP algorithm and divide the residential sample data in Yunnan into training samples and test samples. The network model training has obtained a good training effect, and the relative error between the measured value and the estimated value is within 10%, which shows the feasibility of the model proposed in this paper in the estimation of bulk material. The smaller the relative error is, the less the waste of bulk materials is, then the model can be used to reasonably control the construction cost so that the limited funds can be more reasonably used in the construction project, so as to improve the use efficiency of building materials.
