ABSTRACT
With the advancement in technology, dam failures caused by engineering quality problems are gradually decreasing. However, the proportion of dam safety management, which involves the human factor, is on the rise. This paper looks at the basic human pathway in a dam failure and divides human behavior in this context into four stages: monitoring awareness, condition diagnosis, plan making, and operation execution. The paper categorizes and analyzes the main influencing factors in each stage.
