ABSTRACT

The controllable arrivals for the queue dependent Heterogeneous Multi-Processor (HMP) with discouragement in the line system is considered. The system consists of r permanent and additional processors, which are activated whenever system length reaches pre-specified threshold value and continue until the system length again decreases to the previous level. The service and arrival processes are interdependent, and the service processors are shared by more than one job. It is observed that the mean rate between the arrival and service processors can reduce the congestion in queues and delay in service. The queue size distribution and other performing indices are determined using the recursive approach.
