ABSTRACT

Enhancing the oil shale waste (OSW) utilization in permeable asphalt concrete (PAC) is discussed through pavement performance, permeability property and strengthen mechanism, and successfully practiced in the construction of Si-Ping Sponge City. The research shows that OSW can effectively enhance the high-temperature, low-temperature and loose property of PAC by replacing the fine aggregate, with a comprehensive increase of about 25%; Moisture sensitivity indicates that silane coupling agent (SCA) could improve the poor moisture damage resistance of PAC that replacing fine aggregate with OSW, the immersion Marshall stability is increased by about 36% after modification; FTIR test illustrates that SCA can stimulate chemical bonding reaction, and the peak height and area at 3675.4cm-1 of direct mixing method are greater than surface pretreatment method, which manifests that the graft bonding reaction between SCA and OSW is more sufficient through modified asphalt method.
