ABSTRACT

In the renovation of road-railway bridges (RRBs), the steel bridge deck paving (SBDP) is often conducted under the interference of passing trains, which could lead to performance degradation of the adhesive system in SBDP. This article focuses on the performance changes of the epoxy bonding material (EBM) under vibration conditions. Based on self-designed device, tensile tests were conducted to investigate the degradation pattern of the EBM under various vibration conditions. The results indicate that under standard vibration conditions, the average strength of the EBM is reduced by 28.9%, and the bonding strength fluctuation range is larger, which can lead to the appearance of weak points.
