ABSTRACT

Worldwide, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the primary reason people pass away from cancer-related causes. It is a particular type of lung cancer that is notoriously difficult to diagnose in its earlier stages. Early detection is critical for successful treatment, and computer-aided detection systems can be used to improve detection. Deep learning algorithms such as VGG19, ResNet50, Inceptionv3, and Densenet-121 have shown promising results in NSCLC detection using CT scans. The work presented in this chapter is a comparative analysis of the four deep learning algorithms in which Inceptionv3 accomplished the highest accuracy of 98.01%, and an F1 score of 0.954 in NSCLC detection.
