ABSTRACT

After several generalizations of the Kannan map, the titular claim of yet another is one apart with the ability to replace the source map. It is due to the incorporation of constant δ ∈ [1,∞), in Kannan’s condition, for the first time in the literature. As an application to this generalization, we solve the fixed point problem of the Kannan iterated function system, introduced in [Fractals 18(1), 139-144 (2010)], and that which happened to remain unsolved after a counter-example in [Journal of Fixed Point Theory and Applications 19(4), 2271-2285 (2017)].
