ABSTRACT

Building smart houses and towns is a hot topic all around the world. A “global grid” is a community that uses information and communications technology and digitisation to raise the standard of living for all. Smart cities include smart homes, smart industries, and smart gadgets in both domestic as well as commercial settings and open up a world of possibilities for our lives. To attain the requisite efficiency in the use of energy, creative methods aimed at changing the behaviour of energy users will be needed. Personalised recommendations are crucial to improve customer lifestyle modifications based on attention stimuli among other variables to enable sustainable development in the energy efficiency field. This chapter offers a plan for the community through cutting-edge energy services that are built on technologies like digital twins and intelligent recommendation systems for smart living standards. Digitalisation is shown to be a valuable tool for allowing a more sustainable approach in manufacturing since it can spot problems early on and allow for corrective action to be taken, as well as because it can minimise waste and maximise energy use.
