ABSTRACT
Considerable risks occur in the handling and disposal of biomaterial in the cell culture laboratory that necessitates setting detailed guidelines and maintaining proper records in the first place. This is especially important in the present scenario wherein experiments with hazardous micro-organisms require elaborate safety arrangements, including appropriate biowaste disposal. Laboratory biosafety is relevant to small-scale laboratories, academic and otherwise, and commercialized cell culture facilities.
